This picture is of John Howardson and friends from his Musician days performing at a rock concert on Citadel Hill, Halifax, Nova Scotia. It was an outdoor concert for 40,000 people in celebration of Halifax's birthday.
John Howardson on stage playing his Gibson Les Paul guitar. The background lights were bright and hot. Take note of the long hair in those days. It used to be longer. This picture was taken indoors at a local venue in downtown Halifax then called 'The Palace'. The Palace hosted only the top bands in the area. At times, John Howardson and the various musicians he played with over the years were the opening acts at 'The Palace' for famous international recording artists.
A close-up photo shot of John Howardson and friends perfoming live in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Citidel Hill. This photo shot is from the same Natal Day outdoor concert as the picture above before a live audience of 40,000 people. The East Coast of Canada is a very musical place. These concerts are put on by the city and held every year to celebrate the event and show off the top local bands and other great talent in the Maritime provinces.
This picture is of John Howardson years later in Vancouver, British Columbia. Looks like his hair is shorter in this one. At this time, John played a very hot Ibanez lead electric guitar. Cool design, eh? The various amplifiers he used over the years included Marshall, Ampeg, Peavey, and a Fender Twin Reverb. In his musician days, dancing took a back seat to music.
